ALP-T Dual Narrowband 5nm Filter for Ha&OIII - B4836-36mm Unmounted

The Antlia ALP-T dual band 5nm Ha&OIII filter is specifically engineered for use with DSLR, CMOS, and CCD color cameras, making it an ideal choice for astrophotography. The filter is designed to effectively isolate the red Ha and the blue-green OIII lines light from emission nebulae, with almost total suppression of optical density (OD) 4.5 on unwanted wavelengths from light pollution, moonlight, and airglow. This results in a superior signal-to-noise ratio and better contrast in your astrophotography images.

The ALP-T filter is a dual line-pass filter, allowing you to capture the two main emission nebulae bands at the same time while suppressing unwanted light pollution. This not only simplifies the imaging process but also reduces post-processing efforts to isolate faint details from the background light pollution.

It is important to note that the ALP-T filter is not recommended for solar imaging or night visual observation, and looking at the sun with this filter is not permitted as it can cause serious eye damage.

Featuring extremely steep bandpass edges to minimize internal reflections, the filter also offers an ideal flat-top and moderate bandpass reducing spectrum down shifts, ensuring consistent and accurate light pollution suppression. Through the use of Ion Gun Assisted Deposition coating technology on the double-sided polished substrate, artificial lighting from Bortle scale 1 to Bortle scale 8 is effectively suppressed, while near IR (NIR) is blocked up to 1100nm.
